About Eliza Redmann

When a car accident, resulting in a traumatic brain injury, upended her health, personal life and career as an architect, Eliza reinvented herself as an artist creating functional art.

Her work is inspired by the persistent visual disturbances that she manages on a daily basis. She seeks to capture the structure of regular patterns and shapes while adding a layer of geometric information which the eye and brain cannot quite make sense of. This visual disturbance is designed to challenge viewers to perceive outside of what is normal or traditional.

By engaging Eliza, TAC is adhering to our commitment to DEAI. We are not only employing a person who struggles with a disability, we are also giving her a platform to educate us on what it is like to live with a disability. The visual disturbance that she creates in her work, is similar to the way in which she experiences everyday life. Her art creates a path towards understanding the challenges of living with a disability for our organization and its patrons.
